All things considered, when will THE JW religion end?

When or if they're gone will probably depend on the world situation in the future. Religion loves misery - it strengthens the faithful. I believe the world, and that includes the United States, is going to get worse in the decades to come and that will reinforce the Witnesses and similar religions. -

I just had a thought about the new KH design
by JeffT ini've been trying to figure out the purpose of the new (bland, commercial style) building that the gb is pushing.
it is not a design that attracts attention, nor does it offer a lot in future resale value.
it will be more difficult to build than the wood residential style buildings, meaning they can't use their cheap unskilled labor force for a lot of the work.

Jonathan Drake: "So how many of the rank and file are they willing to lose? I don't know if they'd make that sacrifice..."
I understand that upwards of 75% left during the Rutherford power struggles. It might actually be good for them to lose the 'weak' ones leaving only the diehards who will blindly obey any order.

I think that the Governing Body is making the changes that they are in order to perpetuate the religion. In my opinion they sensed that there was a general malaise in their members and hired a PR man to help them combat this. Everything new that they're doing probably comes from him/them. They're in the process of reinventing themselves and they may perhaps succeed. -

Priceless. I'm sure he's right about the Watchtower heightening its security. I wonder if it would be possible to pull the same prank twice.
I'm glad he heard what John said about other Witnesses saying they saw the light after hearing him. Should be an encouragement.

Natural "gene therapy" occurs in nature - The Emerald Green Sea Slug, uses genes from the algae on which it feeds.
by cantleave inthe authors of a paper presented in the biological bulletin have provided the first direct evidence that the emerald green sea slug, an unusual little beast in that it helps sustain itself by photosynthesis, has within its chromosomes genes that come from the algae it eats.. this is an example of gene transfer from one species to another.
in effect this is exactly what the the goal of gene therapy is.
it is anticipated that gene therapy techniques will prevent many genetically based diseases in humans.

I wonder if photosynthesis would work in humans. -

konceptual99, the Governing Body has bitten Mammon's apple and their eyes have opened to the knowledge of abundant wealth. -

But Bobcat, as I just mentioned, the Organization is really amoral and never abides by its own rules. Besides, they can always tell someone that they don't like that there are no time slots available. -

@ konceptual99:
"There will be something behind the change related to finances but I think it's far more likely to be in the P/L on the resale coupled with ongoing donations."
The more I think about JeffT's idea the more I'm convinced that he is right. Renting out the Kingdom Hall would turn the building into a cash cow that can be milked indefinitely.
